if you are not going to stay either Kalowna or Kamloop, going through Kamloops be better because travel distance is much shorter. If you are choosing place to stay 1 night, go kalowna.

agree with ppllaa, kelowna is an interesting place to explore, okanagan valley is very different from other parts of British Columbia
