加拿大Avis和Budget欺诈顾客被行政罚款3千万加元

加拿大竞争局就Avis和Budget公司及其母公司Avis Budget Group Inc.发布租车欺骗性广告做出行政处罚决定：罚款3千万加元，用于退回顾客。
Avis和Budget公司故意发放广告租车价格大大低于其最后收取的价格，误导消费者，加拿大竞争局调查发现，在租车过程中该公司加入各种名目的收费，甚至打出“代政府收取”，实际上是部分用于填补公司自己的营运成本。如此行为造成恶劣影响，受到重罚。顾客可以获得相应的退费补偿。
Canada's Competition Bureau says it is looking into what it calls
"deceptive marketing practices" at car rental companies Avis
and Budget. The bureau says they advertise prices for vehicle rentals
that are much lower than the actual final price once all the other fees
are included.

The bureau says it is seeking $30 million in administrative penalties
from Avis, Budget, and their parent company, ,
for the alleged false or misleading advertising.

"The bureau’s investigation found that Avis and Budget advertise
prices for vehicle rentals and other associated products that are not
attainable due to additional fees imposed during the rental process,"
the bureau said in a release.
