After you get out of the subway at “ Staromestska”, walking 2-3 minutes toward river, take tram 18 and get off after you cross the river. At the same stop, wait for tram 22. Take tram 22 for a couple of stops and get off at “Prague Castle”, I can not remember the name of the stop which is some word starting with “p”. You can ask the drive or passengers where you should get off for Prague Castle. Young people all understand simple English.
When you get off the tram, you walk down the hill to Prague Castle. Vitus Cathedral is within the Prague Castle. Visit inside Vitus Cathedral is free, but a lot of people waiting on the line. It is open 9am-5pm. Go there early morning or after 3 pm, you might not need to wait on the line.
From “ Staromestska”, you can also walk to there by crossing the Charles Bridge and then up the hill. Take a little bit more time but can see more beautiful streets and buildings.
