美国租车的问题

大家好，
下月准备去San Francisco和Las Vegas, 在市区不想租车，主要是想租车去周边的景点，在PRICELINE和HOTWIRE上查询了一下，觉得价格有点搞不懂，比如以下是在HOTWIRE上询到了LAS VEGAS 2天的租车价格，车型都是COMPACT CAR：
Hotwire Limited Rate的价格（不知道是什么租车公司）：

Car daily rate: $19.95
Rental days: 2
Subtotal: $39.90
Tax recovery charges and fees: $25.07
Total price: $64.97
AVIS的价格：

Car daily rate: $28.99

我的问题是为什么单日价格便宜的税要这么贵，这样总价不是都差不多吗,怎么算是limited rate？ 还有在美国同城异地还车要另收费吗，比如我在市区借车，在机场还。

For each addiotional hour past the return time, you have to pay by the hour when you return the car. But when you book the car, the system should automatically charge you another day if the extra time charge is more than a full day rate (you need to double check this). The general rule is that you always book an addiotional day if you are not sure about the return time. This is also why people like weekly rentals. You can have the car for 7 full days but you can also return it anytime after day 4. And weekly rental is cheaper.

这价钱不算贵了，不必再计较了。
至于异地还车，你在租车网站上可选不同取车还车地点，即可知道差别。
