The State Museum of Egyptian Art, though by far not one of the largest collections of Ancient Egyptian artefacts, has attained worldwide renown for the quality of its pieces, particularly in the area of sculpture. Many of the objects on display are internationally recognized masterpieces and are much solicited as loans for temporary exhibitions around the world.

我只去了老绘画陈列馆，其所在的区域就叫慕尼黑艺术区（Kunstareal），也可以算是博物馆区。周边还有新绘画陈列馆（19世纪以后的绘画）、现代艺术陈列馆、古代雕塑展览馆、州立文物博物馆、伦巴赫美术馆、州立埃及艺术博物馆等几个博物馆。
从老绘画馆二楼向南看到的是埃及艺术博物馆。
